2025-01-06

A delegation of students and faculty from five universities in Iowa, the United States, visited Jilin University (JLU) for a cultural and academic exchange program on Jan 2 and 3.

The visit included tours of JLU’s Central Library, Jilin University Museum of Archaeology & Art, and the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, the Norman Bethune First School of Clinical Medicine and School of Nursing.

People in charge of the Jilin Province People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, US-China Green Institute, and JLU Office of Global Engagement also attended the visit.

The delegation students engaged in hands-on activities such as making traditional Chinese rubbing art and dressing up in hanfu (traditional Chinese attire), immersing themselves in Chinese culture. They also held discussions with faculty and students from the Norman Bethune First School of Clinical Medicine and School of Nursing, gaining insights into medical education and research.

Seven student volunteers from JLU also helped out during the visit, fostering cross-cultural connections and showcasing the university’s vibrant academic environment. The exchange has strengthened ties between young people and promoted mutual understanding.
