Jilin University won a gold and silver medal at the 76th Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition recently held in Nuremberg, Germany, which attracted over 500 invention projects from 30 countries and regions.

The Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition, founded in 1948, is one of the world’s three major invention exhibitions and also the oldest and most influential in the world. The Chinese delegation organized more than 90 invention projects from universities, scientific research institutions, medical institutions, and innovative enterprises to participate in the exhibition.

The “Material Composite Stress High Temperature Fatigue Performance In Situ Tester” project exhibited by Professor ZHAO Hongwei and Professor MA Zhichao's team from Jilin University won the gold medal at the exhibition, while the “Static and Dynamic Micro Nano Mechanics In Situ Tester” project won silver.

With the support of national key research and development programs, the project technologies have been applied in the mechanical performance evaluation and quality control of domestically produced large aircraft and key materials for energy and power.

The medal-winning projects received guidance from Academician REN Luquan. JLU Master’s student LI Jiakai represented the team at the on-site exhibition in Nuremberg.
