Jilin University-Oxford University Young Scholars Forum was successfully held
The fourth Jilin University-Oxford University Interdisciplinary Young Scholars Forum on Philosophy and Social Sciences was held from Oct 22 to 24 at Oxford University in England.
Dr. WANG Shidong, Dean of the Oxford Institute for Global Development and Prospects, presided over the opening ceremony. Prof. HAN Xiping, Vice Chairman of the University Council, Jilin University, delivered a speech.
The forum featured the theme “Development of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”. Eight experts and scholars from Oxford University and seven young teachers from Jilin University conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as “AI driven policies, innovation, and growth in the world”, “AI redefining digital communication”, and “data regulation and AI risks”.
HAN emphasized in his speech that Jilin University has a profound foundation in the field of AI and should focus on the high-quality development of higher education driven by educational informatization, striving to shape a new ecology of higher education under the background of “AI+”.
Experts and scholars from Oxford University expressed their appreciation for the studious attitude and awareness demonstrated by young scholars from Jilin University, who have laid a strong foundation for future in-depth cooperation.
The forum has been held for four sessions since its launch in 2017, playing an important role in enhancing the research capabilities of young scholars in the field of philosophy and social sciences, expanding international perspectives, and building high-level international academic cooperation and exchange platforms under new circumstances.
