Zhang Xi Meets with 2 JLU Representatives Attending the Spring Festival Symposium for Foreign Experts
On February 12th, Professor Zhang Xi, President of Jilin University met in Beijing with two JLU international experts invited to attend the Spring Festival Symposium for Foreign Experts: Professor Fausto Giunchiglia, , and Professor Hans Christopher Juhlin, Professsor Giuchiglia is a member of the Academy of Europe and was elected a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Science in 2025. Professor Juhlin is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and received the Chinese Government Frienship Award in 2025.
On behalf of the university, Professor Zhang Xi expressed gratitude to the two international experts for their longstanding support and dedication to Jilin University. He extended congratulations to Professor Fausto Giunchiglia on his election as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and to Professor Hans Christopher Juhlin on receiving the Chinese Government Friendship Award. He also extended warm New Year wishes to them and their families.
Professor Zhang Xi reviewed their longstanding and fruitful collaboration with Jilin University. He noted that over the years, a series of significant results have been made in talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and scientific research collaboration.Both experts have consistently supported JLU’s disciplinary development and young talents training. He also expressed hope to further deepen the practical cooperation in the future. In addition, Professor Zhang Xi engaged in in-depth discussions with the two foreign experts on educational reform in the era of artificial intelligence, research innovation, and talent cultivation.
Professor Fausto Giunchiglia and Professor Hans Christopher Juhlin expressed their appreciation for the university’s long-term support. They expressed their commitment to further strengthening practical cooperation with Jilin University and actively promoting scientific, technological, and cultural exchanges between China and Europe. The two sides also held candid and in-depth discussions on academic topics of mutual interest.
