University of Buenos Aires delegation visits JLU

From May 28 to 29, Ricardo Jorge Gelpi, President of the University of Buenos Aires, led a delegation on a visit to Jilin University (JLU). Executive Vice President CAI Lidong and Vice President ZHANG Ran welcomed the guests.

CAI introduced JLU’s development and expressed hope to expand collaboration in medicine, agriculture, and humanities, fostering academic exchange and strengthening China-Argentina ties.

President Gelpi praised the fruitful cooperation between the two universities and highlighted the vital role of higher education in promoting China-Latin America exchanges. He also emphasized the need to utilize Latin American university resources to advance practical cooperation.

During the visit, Gelpi delivered a keynote speech titled “The Role of Universities in China-Latin America Cooperation” to faculty and students, sharing insights on student training and research in Argentina. The delegation also met with University of Buenos Aires students studying at JLU to learn about their experiences.

The delegation and JLU representatives held discussions at JLU’s Norman Bethune Second School of Clinical Medicine, agreeing to collaborate in medical education, research, and discipline development, with plans to deepen cooperation in healthcare.
